Can’t let this one go by…

The nursing home lost its bus after the driver surrendered it to carjackers. Groups of people then drove by the center, shouting to residents, “Get out!”

On Wednesday, 80 residents, most of them in wheelchairs, were evacuated to other nursing homes in the state.

“We had excellent plans. We had enough food for 10 days,” said Peggy Hoffman, the home’s executive director. “Now we’ll have to equip our department heads with guns and teach them how to shoot.”Emph. mine

Looters around New Orleans spent another day Wednesday threatening survivors and ransacking stores. Some were desperate for food — others just wanted beer and TVs.

ARE YOU SH**ING ME!?!

Ms. Hoffman you have got to be one of the STUPIDEST people I have ever had the mis-fortune to have reada quote from.

Think.
(I know it’s hard, but try)
Gun safety and handling training takes time.
Time you no longer have.
It is not good enough to say “The bullets go here, then you pull on this thingey.”
The training you are talking about should be (as it once was) an elementary school subject. That’s when it wasn’t being taught by fathers.
(Oh, I forgot)
I am sorry. P.C.

The training you are talking about should havebeen required for your employees YEARS ago.
With monthly if not weekly shooting matches just to keep skills up.
But, no way would you go for that.
and that sucks.

as I saw elsewhere, “Embrace the suck.”

This is what 40+ years of welfare/great society/ entitlement mindset gets you.

EDIT: Tip o’ the Tam to The Smallest Minority
